Session Description:
Clinical Nurse Specialists serve as leaders in practice improvement, implementation, and inquiry. Selecting the correct problem-solving method to address a clinical issue is critical to achieving meaningful outcomes and ensuring appropriate dissemination. This session examines the distinctions between QI, evidence-based practice, innovation, and research while demonstrating how the INQUIRE Model can guide project planning from initial trigger to implementation and evaluation. Attendees will leave with practical tools to support project consultation and leadership across healthcare settings.

- Discuss how the INQUIRE Model supports strategic project planning and consultation.
- Apply the INQUIRE Framework to real-world clinical scenarios to guide project selection and implementation.
Speaker Information:
Alyson Keen, PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, FCNS
Alyson Keen, PhD, RN, ACNS-BC, FCNS, is a Nurse Scientist at Indiana University Health in Indianapolis, Indiana. With over a decade of experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Dr. Keen has advanced clinical practice, research, and education at the local, state, and national levels. She earned her PhD from the Indiana University School of Nursing in 2021. Her research portfolio focuses on mental health/wellness and building infrastructure to cultivate a research friendly environment.
Tiffany Rader MSN, RN, AGCNS-BC, CMSRN, FCNS
Tiffany Rader MSN RN AGCNS-BC FCNS is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Manager of Nursing Practice and Quality at Indiana University Health Metro Region in Indianapolis, IN. She began her nursing career in a trauma med/surg unit where she saw firsthand how impactful basic nursing care is on the trajectory of patient outcomes. Through her bedside nursing experience, she found a passion for evidence-based care and advancing nursing practice which led her once again back to school to become a Clinical Nurse Specialist. She supported neuro progressive care, stroke and trauma units as a clinical nurse specialist before moving into her current leadership role where she continues to mentor others in evidence-based practice and nursing.
