Theme:  “Hot Topics in Graduate CNS Education”                                                                       

Intended Audience: CNS Faculty and Preceptors

Session Description:

These facilitated discussion sessions will include best practices for aligning of the CNS competencies, best practices in simulation/telehealth, best practices in online teaching, innovative approaches to securing/gaining clinical experiences and prescriptive authority.

Outcome: Attendees will share best practices and positive experiences and describe one new opportunity previously not considered.

Objectives: Preceptor or faculty participants will be able to:

  1. Explain 2 best practices in aligning CNS competencies with learner clinical experiences
  2. Discuss 2 opportunities to implement simulation for clinical practica hours in CNS education.
  3. Discuss 2 opportunities and 2 challenges related to clinical practica for CNS learners.
  4. Discuss 2 best practices and 2 innovative strategies for online teaching.

Contact Hours: This activity was approved for 5.25 contact hours.

  • This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by Montana Nurses Association, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
