NACNS LEAD: The Next Generation | 2024 Annual Conference

From March 10-13, 2024, join hundreds of colleagues at the only national conference dedicated to the clinical nurse specialist.

The NACNS 2024 Annual Conference takes place at the New Orleans Marriott in New Orleans, Louisiana! Join us for a multitude of opportunities to engage with CNSs and other nursing leaders from around the nation. Our agenda will provide an extensive variety of high-quality, CNS-specific sessions, complex pharmacology sessions, and hands-on clinical skills-building workshops rich in Continuing Education Credits.

This year’s theme for the NACNS Annual Conference is Lead The Next Generation!

Together, we will work towards:
Ensuring we have more nurses becoming CNSs
Supporting our CNS students, PD, faculty & preceptors
Assisting all CNSs in securing HCS privileges
Making the public aware of the CNS role
Directing and prescribing complex patient care across the continuum
Building partnerships to improve patient care and nursing outcomes
Being politically active to advance the CNS role

Oriana Beaudet, DNP, RN, PHN
The ANA Enterprise

Oriana Beaudet is the Vice President Innovation for the American Nurses Association Enterprise. The ANA Enterprise includes the American Nurses Association, American Nurses Credentialing Center, and the American Nurses Foundation.  Prior to ANA, Dr. Beaudet ran her own business as a strategic partner for organizations, healthcare executives, and startups.

Her last position as the Vice President of Transformation for a national healthcare design firm she focused on strategy and business development for national health systems around operational and business innovations; simulation modeling and technology; design of the built space, and care delivery design.  She currently sits on the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy – Expert Advisory Council for Transformation and the Governing Directors Board for the Alliance for Nursing Informatics. Dr. Beaudet completed her doctorate in nursing practice in Health Innovation Leadership with an emphasis in Design from the University of Minnesota School of Nursing.

The nursing profession has a rich history of inventing solutions for patient needs and by redefining and reimagining the future role of nurses and nursing – and it all starts with the work we lead today.”

Lynn Gallagher-Ford, PhD, RN, EBP-C, DPFNAP, FAAN
Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare

Lynn Gallagher-Ford, PhD, RN, EBP-C, DPFNAP, FAAN, is chief operating officer and clinical core director of the Fuld Institute for EBP, where her work is dedicated to research, education and consultation focused on the development, promotion, integration, implementation, and sustainability of evidence-based practice in both academic and clinical settings.

Gallagher-Ford’s clinical background in maternal-child health and nursing administration spans 30 years. She served in a variety of roles ranging from bedside clinician to chief nursing officer, in which she gained extensive experience and expertise in teaching and implementing evidence-based practice in real-world clinical settings. Gallagher-Ford is currently active as a consultant, facilitator and keynote presenter at national and international conferences and education programs.

Gallagher-Ford co-edited the book Implementing the EBP Competencies in Healthcare: A Practical Guide for Improving Quality, Safety & Outcomes. Her publications include co-authorship of multiple studies that have had a dramatic impact on the current body of knowledge about evidence-based practice and influenced strategic imperatives to address new challenges. She also contributed as a lead author in the American Journal of Nursing EBP Series, which received the Sigma Theta Tau Publication Award for 2011.

She serves as assistant editor of Worldviews on Evidence-Based Nursing and is the editor of the column “Implementing and Sustaining EBP in Real-World Healthcare Settings,” which features best evidence-based strategies and innovative ideas on how to promote and sustain evidence-based practices and cultures in clinical organizations.

Gallagher-Ford’s research is focused on the science behind evidence-based practice, with particular focus on the influence of nurse leaders and contextual issues. She was inducted into the National Academies of Practice and the Nursing Academy as a Distinguished Practitioner and Fellow in 2013 and the American Academy of Nursing as a fellow in 2017.
