2019 Annual Conference Handouts
From March 6-9, 2019, join hundreds of colleagues at the only national conference dedicated to the clinical nurse specialist.
We will offer multiple opportunities to engage with CNSs and other nursing leaders from around the nation. Our exhibit hall will allow you to explore new opportunities and relationships with universities, health care systems and technology vendors, publishers, and more.
Our agenda includes a variety of high-quality, CNS-specific sessions and hands-on clinical skills-building workshops designed for the CNS such as:
- Suturing Skills
- Advanced Neuro Assessment Skills
- Enteral Feeding Tube Placement
We’re also pleased to introduce our Keynote Speakers, Colonel Danny McKnight (retired U.S. Army) and Joy Longo, PhD, RNC-NIC.
You don’t want to miss this opportunity to network with colleagues and discuss how the CNS is a catalyst for practice change.

Podium, Symposium, Lecture and Workshop Presentations
NACNS prepared the following guidelines to help presenters with their presentation. This year’s conference features several types of sessions: podium, symposium, clinical management lectures and workshops. Please review the guidelines for answers on the length of your presentation, computer and technical details and more.
Poster Presentations
Posters should be self-explanatory. Poster presenters are free to supplement and discuss particular points raised by viewers during the viewing sessions. Please review the guidelines for poster presenters.
Other Hints & Tips
Presenters are responsible for their own conference registration. All presenters must at least be registered for the SINGLE DAY of their presentation.
Please bring a copy of your presentation on a USB drive. Audiovisual technicians will be available throughout the meeting space should you have any questions or issues regarding the equipment in the room.
To provide conference attendees with the most educational experience, NACNS asks all presenters to please submit handouts to be uploaded to our online system. Handouts can be your PowerPoint presentation in PDF format (3 slides per page with notes) or Word or PDF documents that support the presentation.
Moderators
Serving as a moderator is a great way to get to know other NACNS colleagues in addition to gaining CE. Most sessions are assigned a moderator.
- Instructions for Workshop Moderators
- Instructions for Symposia Moderators
- Instructions for Clinical Management Moderators
- Instructions for Podium Moderators
Some of the larger sessions will be assigned a room monitor to assist with management of the session.
