Speaker: Margaret “Peggy” Compton, PhD, RN, FAAN, Professor of Nursing, University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA

Peggy Compton is a Professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the International Academy of Addictions Nurses. Her expertise is in the intersection of opioids, addiction and pain, with specific emphasis on opioid-induced hyperalgesia and the management of pain in persons with addiction. She is the recipient of the Betty Ford Award from the Association for Multidisciplinary Education and Research in Substance Use and Addiction and inducted into the Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame in recognition for the impact of her work.
