National Nursing Association Announces 2018 Board of Directors and Nominating Committee Members

The National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists announced its 2018-2019 Board of Directors at the group’s annual conference in Austin, Texas earlier this month. NACNS represents thousands of clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) nationwide who provide direct patient care and lead initiatives to improve health care quality and clinical outcomes, and reduce costs. The newly elected board members demonstrate leadership in nursing education, practice, research and administration.

Dallas Critical Care Nurse Elected to Board of Leading National Nursing Association

At its annual conference earlier this month, the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS) announced that Susan Smith, DNP, APRN, ACNS-BC Adult Clinical Nurse Specialist at Baylor University Medical Center, Critical Care Services in Dallas, Texas, has been elected to the 2018-2019 NACNS Board of Directors. Dr. Smith has been a member of NACNS since 2009.

Fort Wayne Nurse Elected to Board of Leading National Nursing Association

At its annual conference earlier this month, the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS) announced that Jan Powers, PhD, RN, CCRN, CCNS, CNRN, NE-BC, Director of Nursing Research and Professional Practice at Parkview Regional Health System in Fort Wayne, Ind., has been elected to the 2018-2019 NACNS Board of Directors. Powers has been a member of NACNS since 2001.

Minneapolis Nurse Elected to Board of Leading National Nursing Association

At its annual conference earlier this month, the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS) announced that Niloufar Hadidi, PhD, APRN, ACNS-BC, FAHA, Associate Professor (tenured) and Coordinator of the Adult/Gero Clinical Nurse Specialist/Doctor of Nursing Practice (CNS/DNP) Program at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn., has been elected to the 2018-2019 NACNS Board of Directors. Hadidi has been a member of NACNS since 2012.

National Nursing Association Opens 2019 Call for Abstracts

Today the National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists (NACNS) announced the call for abstracts for its 2019 annual conference: A Catalyst for Practice Change: The CNS. Due to the number of high-quality abstracts submitted in recent years, conference planners have been able to enhance the program to accept more opportunities for clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) and other advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to present on their research and work.
