The National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists announced that Vincent Holly, MSN, RN, CCRN, CCNS, Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist at Indiana University Health, Bloomington Hospital in Bloomington, IN. has been elected President of the 2017-2018 NACNS Board of Directors. Holly is also Adjunct Faculty for the Indiana University School of Nursing’s adult health CNS program.
Holly has been a member of NACNS since 2004. He joined the Board of Directors in 2015, before being elected as President-Elect last year. He also served on the Practice Committee from 2006 to 2012.
“It is an honor and a privilege to serve as President and represent the thousands of clinical nurse specialists working every day to make patients’ lives safer and healthier,” said Holly. “I look forward to serving and providing a voice for clinical nurse specialists from coast to coast to highlight the superb level of care that clinical nurse specialists provide.”
“We look forward to Vince’s guidance as the association pursues the necessary legislative, regulatory and educational paths to strengthen the CNS role,” said NACNS Executive Director Melinda Mercer Ray, MSN.
Holly is also a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses, Central Indiana Organization of Clinical Nurse Specialists and American Delirium Society.
Holly has received the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses: Circle of Excellence award in 2012 and was the 1998 Mildred B. Kohr Excellence in Nursing award winner.
Holly earned his MSN and BSN from Indiana University in Indianapolis and his BA from Indiana University in Bloomington. Holly is an Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist with a specialty in Critical Care.
